The Redsin Tower Review

Well known for their gore, and the underground classic series August Underground, in 2006 Toe Tag released The Redsin Tower. Redsin Tower was a unique film unlike anything Toe Tag had released previously. Up until 2006 most of their catalog was comprised of only the first two August Underground movies which were filmed to look like real life snuff films, and  Necrophagia: The Sickness; a documentary made by Director Fred Vogel following Death Metal band Necrophagia on tour.

Story:

Kim has just ended a long term relationship with her boyfriend Mitch. It’s clear to Kim that he is going crazy over the break up, but that night Kim and her friend Becky are meant to go to a party. When that doesn’t work out, Kim, Becky, and four others decide to party at the Redsin Tower, where it is said that a Alchemist named Redsin, became obsessed with human souls and would conduct experiments with them.

Kim’s crazy ex boyfriend is determined to follow them and reclaim their love, and nothing is going to stop him. Not even the urban legend of Redsin.

Characters:

The characters were likable and were cast properly for their roles. The acting is about as much as you can expect from a Toe Tag movie, while not excellent, it’s tolerable.

Gore/Special Effects:

Like every Toe Tag movie, gory special effects are what they specialize in and it’s excellent in this film. If you are into special effects and gory horror films it’s one main reasons you should watch this movie. With scenes like mass amounts of blood spewing out of a vagina, body parts getting cut up and throats getting slashed, Toe Tag delivers the gore in spades.

Lasting Appeal:

This is definitely a group movie, it’s gory, sick and twisted and not for the faint of heart. When watching it alone, it may not be terrifying. It has the potential to disturb, and once again, the gore is a great bonus.

Final Head Count:

I really loved this movie. Surprisingly, the story was actually really good considering Toe Tags previous efforts are pretty weak on plot. It needs to be seen for the gory special effects alone.
