The Story:
Centuries ago the village of Cragwich was dying at the hands of the evil vampiress Queen Carmilla, until one fateful night she was hunted down by Baron Wolfgang MacLaren who “Cut her fucking head off.” Before the decapitation was complete the Queen placed a curse on the village stating that all women on their 18th birthday will turn into lesbian vampires. Fast forward a few centuries, and we are introduced to our modern heroes: Fletch, a party clown who doesn’t get along with children, and his best mate Jimmy who let’s his crazed girlfriend in, and out of his life whenever she pleases. The two are sitting in a pub one day and decide that they need a break from their stressful lives, a hiking trip in a random place is the answer. Once they arrive in the village the two meet-up with a handful of sexy college girls studying the myth of the Queen, who soon begin getting picked off by Lesbian Vampires.
Characters:
I found all the characters to have a great on-screen chemistry with one another. The leads act as opposites much like Simon Pegg & Nick Frost from Shaun of the Dead, but it would be unfair to compare the movie to that title as they are completely different in every other way. MyAnna Buring is adorable as Jimmy’s love interest, and Fletch’s crude humour is usually well timed.
Effects/Gore:
A semen like substance pours out of the wounds of the vampires in buckets, which was a little surprising considering their sexual orientation.
Final Headcount:
I really enjoyed Lesbian Vampire Killers while I was watching it. Every tasteful idea one can associate with lesbian vampires is done with a good variety of kills, and eroticism. There are some annoying quick movement edits on everyone that got kind of annoying after the fourth one, but no major complaints overall. The comedy, while nothing sidesplitting was well timed and executed.
Frightful fact:
Some Countries took Lesbian off the title changing it to simply Vampire Killers. If you see the movie you will understand why that title makes no sense at all.
