“The Walking Dead Gave Me Nightmares”

Star of ‘The Walking Dead’, Laurie Holden has told the AMC Blog that filming the series so far has given her nightmares.

She told them the scene in which her sister Amy (Emma Bell) was attacked and killed was “emotionally upheaving” in her words.

Laurie Holden said this in the blog, “I’ve had quite a few nightmares about being chased by walkers,” And later saying, “I think it was so violent… doing that scene with Emma that I had a lot of disturbing dreams about that whole incident. It’s hard for it not to stay with you.”

Laurie Holden also claimed that she did however enjoy being in the death sequence scene with Emma Bell, and has called it “her favourite scene” of the series.

She explained, “I think we were given two takes and there was just massive amounts of people and machinery all around us and we would lie there covered in blood, holding hands, and just connecting,”

“It sounds bizarre, but we created this bubble around us where nothing else existed or mattered. As dark and heartbreaking and awful as the scene was, it was a pretty special moment.”

Not very exciting news, but I do find this interesting… I can understand how the scene would do that to somebody but at the same time I find it odd that she still felt that way when she knew it wasn’t really happening, and that there was all sorts of cameras, machinery, and crew around them at the time (obviously).

This article just goes to say how dedicated the actors in The Walking Dead are, and how seriously they are taking the series already, with the first season only being six episodes long, they are already falling in love with the characters of their co-workers and are taking the series very well… I think this is a sign that the future seasons are going to be excellent, due to the actors themselves being so in to it.
Although it may be only one actor who says something like this, it seems from watching each episode more than once that all of the actors in the series are feeling it as though it is really them in the situation, and not their characters.

This only makes me feel a lot more anxious to see the future of the series… I hope you all feel the same.

On a side note, according to www.Deadline.com, Frank Darabont is having thoughts of letting go the writing staff for the second season of the show. Including the executive producer/writer Charles Eglee who had worked with Darabont on ‘The Shield’.
Frank Darabont seems to be comfortable following the path of the BBC series Tourchwood which hires a freelance group of writers.
